For the Love of Jade
From the day they were born, Harrison and Jade were always thought of as one. The first time Harrison and Jade met was when their pregnant mothers bumped stomachs at the farmers' market. Before Harrison knew the meaning of the word love, he loved Jade. Loved defined by Harrison as never wanting a day without her. Whatever souls are made of, they were cut from the same.
Our story begins in a small slate mining town in Pennsylvania during the 1970's and revolves around two teenagers; Harrison and Jade who believe they are soul mates. They met before time existed for them when their pregnant mother's bumped stomachs at the farmers market. They've been together ever since.
But when Harrison becomes jealous over the attention Jade has been getting from a classmate named Jacob, everything changes. As all teenage boys do, Harrison and Jacob fight over the girl after school. But something goes horribly wrong that sends Harrison and his friends on a course for hardship and pain.
Sheriff Scott Allan is crushed by the death of his son Jacob. He struggles to make sense of the tragedy but finds none. Scott's pain slowly manifests into a twisted hatred that drives him to the edge of his sanity. Alone and struggling with his own morality, Scott wishes to destroy everything beautiful in Harrison's life. And he takes action. As Harrison starts losing his loved ones, he feels the urge to stop the deranged sheriff by any means. The tension and emotions ratchet up between Harrison and Scott Allan and they collide into each other.
Only as the dust settles some 30 years later will these two people learn the lessons of their lives and how much they have hurt the people around them.
